I'm back.
It's been such a long time since I contributed anything to this blog. I've been a'changin' - I moved out, left home, ventured to a brand new city, became single, got a new job... basically I took my old life, ripped it up and stomped all over it, and did a little bum shimmy for good luck. Now don't get me wrong, there were things I enjoyed about how I was before but I was ever so close to becoming a boring old hag a little before my time! It's been quite hard as I'm not the best at embracing change (though I try because change is important) and I've had to be braver than I am normally but I am LOVING it! It's easily the best thing I have ever done - not for my bank account mind!
So that's the why, now for the what...
I work and live very close to the centre of town and the shopping is gooohooood; I'm buying an awful lot of clothes, I could build a clothes mountain, I won't, but I could. I'm finding this city a complete treasure chest of inspiration for outfits - lots of students milling about in i'mtoocoolforschool outfits (I always remind myself that I would probably be better dressed if I could leave the house at lunchtime too).
As the weather is getting colder I've been wearing denim shorts and thick tights, big necklaces, chunky knits, leather aviator jacket (from Topshop - everyone has it. very annoying.), woolly hats (I heart hats) and brogues. I've started wearing foundation (thanks to Laura/Lollipop26 whose beauty blog is brilliant) it took me ages to choose one but I settled on Clinique SuperBalanced and I'm pretty happy with it overall - it can be quite sheer though so I'm considering getting one with a denser coverage for nights out.
I obviously haven't been writing much of this blog of late but I have been traaaawling through others, I'm addicted! My favourites are:
LLYMLRS fashiontoast Olsens Anonymous The Man Repeller
The Style Crusader

I think it's always a good idea to do a least one bum shimmy in every new city you move to.
